James Kenny Lee, age 63, of Olive Branch, Mississippi, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 16, 2025. A lifelong resident of North Mississippi, Kenny was a man of steadfast faith, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to his family.
He lived his life with a gentle spirit and a heart rooted in loyalty. Kenny faced life's journey with perseverance, finding his greatest peace in the comfort of his home, the company of his closest family members, the quiet companionship of his beloved cat, River, and the promise of his faith. His life was a testament to kindness and dependability, and his memory will remain a guiding light to all who were blessed to know him.
Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Ray C. Lee; his sister, Mona Tomsen; his brothers, Robert Lee and Richard Lee; and his nephew, Joel Lee.
He leaves behind a family who will forever cherish his legacy, including his beloved mother, Sylvia Lee of Southaven, Mississippi; his brothers, David Lee of Horn Lake, Mississippi, and Buddy Lee of Byhalia, Mississippi; and his long-term partner, Debbie Chamoun, along with her daughter, Carmen Chamoun of Hilton Head, South Carolina.
Kenny took great pride in his nieces and nephews, loving them as his own. He is survived by the children of his late brother Robert Lee and sister-in-law Maureen Lee: Amanda Lee and her son, Simon Lee, of Horn Lake, Mississippi; Jennifer Harber and her husband, Brandon, of Cordova, Tennessee; Yamma Lee and his wife, Lauren Lee, of Southaven, Mississippi; and Rocky Lee and family of Southaven, Mississippi.
He is also survived by the daughters of his late sister Mona Tomsen: Maranda Tomsen of Colorado, and Misty Moore and her husband, Justin, and son, Kylan Rivera.
Additional survivors include Buddy Lee's son, Terry "JT" Lee and son Jaxon Lee of Olive Branch, Mississippi; and the children of David Lee: Brittnie Lee, Ray Lee, and Richard Lee.
Kenny also leaves behind his cousin Tammy Grant and her husband, Malcolm Grant, of Grenada, Mississippi; his cousin Tim McDaniel and his wife, Sharon McDaniel, of Grenada, Mississippi; his great-aunt Edna McDaniel of Grenada, Mississippi; his great-aunt Myrt Boyer and her husband, Charles Boyer, of Grenada, Mississippi; and her daughters, Sonia Boyer and Sherry Morgan, of Indianola, Mississippi.
While we mourn the loss of a dear son, brother, companion, and uncle, we rejoice in the assurance of eternal life. We take comfort in the words of 2 Corinthians 5:8: "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." James has finished his race and kept the faith; he now rests in the everlasting arms of the Almighty.
