James Wade "Jimmy" McGrail, Jr., 67, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away on March 4, 2026, after a brief illness.
Jimmy graduated from the University of Evansville in 1980 with a bachelor of science degree in computer science. Jimmy worked for his family’s business, General Tire Treaders beginning at age 13 until his death.
Jimmy was predeceased by his father, James Wade McGrail, Sr., and his mother, Gail Jamieson McGrail. He dedicated most of his later life to caring for his parents.
He and his father were avid horse race fans and spent many weekends at Ellis Park at the live race meets. He helped coach softball teams for his nephew, niece, and great nephew at the community park in Baskett, Kentucky.
Jimmy is survived by his brother Michael McGrail; sister-in-law Laura McGrail; nephew Matthew McGrail and his wife Rachel; niece Amanda Kellen and her husband Caleb; great-nephew Noah Kellen; and great-niece Claire Kellen. Jimmy’s legacy is one of kindness, dedication, and quiet generosity. This memory brings comfort to those who loved him.
A Memorial Service will be held on March 15, 2026, at 01:00 PM at Baskett Christian Church, 7478 Carson Drive, Baskett, KY. Visitation will be from 12:30 pm until the time of the service.
