James Michael Murphy

James Michael Murphy, born August 29, 1963, in New Rochelle, New York, passed away too soon, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and an unforgettable presence. Known to many as "Murph," he filled the lives of those around him with warmth, humor, and fierce loyalty.
Michael was a natural athlete and a true competitor, whether on the field, the court, or the golf course. He gave his all to everything he pursued, always the first to practice and the last to leave. In 2019, Michael left his longtime home in Mamaroneck, New York, to make a home in Delray Beach, Florida. There, he formed close bonds with a group of friends who supported him through many challenges and remained an important part of his life.
Michael will be deeply missed by his mother, Joan Murphy; his father, John Murphy, and stepmother, Jane Murphy; his siblings, Janice Murphy, Jean Sweeny (Frank), and Billy Murphy (Laura); and his former wife Maurine, with whom he remained a close friend. He also held a deep love for his three nephews, Keith, Elias, and Luke, who brought him great pride and joy.
A Celebration of Life for Michael will be held at a later date and details will be shared when they become available.
