James Craig Nolan

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Craig Nolan, age 69 - a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, teacher, musician, and friend.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Michelle McCarty; his children, Jamie, Cristopher, Sophie, and Thea Nolan, and his cherished grandchildren, Averi and Raleigh Nolan, Dylan DePauw, and Teagan Tapio. He is also survived by his twin brother Kerry, his loving sister, Laurie, and his many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emilie Jean Edwards (Nolan) and Louis James Nolan, Jr., as well as his sister, Linda Nolan.

Known affectionately as Jim, Jimmy, Dad, or "Grandpa," he brought joy and laughter to everyone who knew him. His warmth, humor, creativity, and spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all those who knew and loved him. A final celebration of his life will take place April 18, 2026, at 11:00am at Centenary United Methodist Church in Shady Side, MD.
