In Loving Memory of James Barry Reppert
March 17, 1947 - December 8, 2025

With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for his life, we announce the passing of James Barry Reppert, who left us peacefully on December 8, 2025. Born on March 17, 1947, Jim lived a life defined by service, compassion, creativity, and an unwavering dedication to his family and community.

Jim proudly served his country as a Vietnam Veteran, enlisted from September 1966 to September 1968. His commitment to protecting others continued throughout his 28-year career as a Police Officer for the City of Philadelphia. Over the course of a decade, he served in both uniform and plain clothes before spending 18 years with Graphic Arts, where he combined his artistic eye with his deep understanding of the department's mission.

His devotion to international peace and security extended far beyond his time in Philadelphia. Jim was twice commissioned through the United Nations to serve in Bosnia following the war, offering his skills, steadiness, and compassion to communities rebuilding from conflict. These tours were among the accomplishments he held most meaningful.

While Jim was a protector by profession, he was an artist at heart. He loved to draw—sometimes seriously, often playfully—and delighted colleagues by creating charming caricatures for officers' families. Each holiday season, he painted the 23rd District windows with festive scenes for the children of North Central Philadelphia, a tradition that became a beloved part of the community's celebrations.

Some of his happiest moments were spent with a pencil or brush in hand beside his children, James (married to Kristen (née Quinn)) and Joanne. Over the years, those drawing sessions continued with his grandchildren—Alice, Colin, and Lucy—who brought him immeasurable joy. Through art, he passed down laughter, creativity, and connection—gifts that will continue to live on in them.

Jim's greatest love was his wife, Mary T. Reppert (née DiSandro). Together for 54 years, their partnership was the foundation of his life—steadfast, loving, and full of shared memories that defined both of their worlds.

He is also lovingly remembered by his sister, Gail Glenn (née Clouser), and his brother-in-law, Gary Glenn, as well as his sister-in-law, Cecilia DiSandro.

Jim's life was one of purpose—rooted in service, enriched by creativity, and illuminated by the love he poured into his family. He leaves behind a legacy of courage, warmth, stories, and sketches that will forever color the memories of those who knew him.

Details regarding services will be shared with family and friends.

May his memory be a blessing, and may his spirit continue to guide and inspire those he loved.
