James M. Wilcox Obituary
James M. Wilcox passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026.
He is survived by his beloved wife; four children—two daughters, one son, and one stepson; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
Jim was deeply involved in his local AA chapter, The Glass House. His dedication to the program made a lasting impact on many lives throughout the more than 30 years he was part of AA. He quietly supported and encouraged countless individuals on their own journeys, living the program each day through his actions and example.
Jim loved sports and had a special fondness for the beach. He was especially proud of his two grandsons who served—and continue to serve—in the military. Above all, Jim loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cherished the time spent with them.
A man of few words, Jim spoke with intention. When he did speak, his words carried weight and meaning. He will be remembered for his quiet demeanor, his dry wit, and his unmistakable sense of style. From his carefully groomed hair to his crisp, starched shirts, Jim was always impeccably dressed—often finishing the look with a pair from his beloved collection of cowboy boots. Dressing sharp wasn't about impressing anyone; it was simply who he was.
Jim's love, smile, and wit will live on through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the countless lives he touched through his daily commitment to the program.
Rest easy, Jim. Those of us left behind will carry your torch and honor your memory.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, March 13, 2026, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at Ridglea Christian Church, 6720 W. Elizabeth Lane, Fort Worth, Texas 76116.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Ridglea Christian Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Jim's honor may be made to Ridglea Christian Church (designated for the Glass House) or to the COPD Foundation.
