Jamie Lynn Casto

Jamie Lynn Casto, 59, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, in Jacksonville, Florida. A lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Jamie was deeply rooted in her community and in the hearts of all who knew her.

Born to the late James Monroe Murray and Martha Jane Robinson, Jamie grew up surrounded by a large and loving family. She carried that love forward throughout her life—most especially as a mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.

Jamie was the devoted mother of Tanya Powell, Scott (Sam) Powell, and the proud grandmother of Tony and Carmello Ramirez, who brought endless joy to her life.

She is survived by her beloved siblings: Angel (Polly) Maher, Suezen Myers, Elizabeth (Samuel) Abreu, Brenda (James) Wilson, Ruby (Denis) Turpin.

She is preceded in death by her siblings Ron Myers and Thelma Jane T.J. Hoza.

Jamie also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who cherished her deeply: Suezen Hoza, Teresa Hoza, Kelley Cantrell, Matthew Hoza, Valerie Myers, Alicia Myers, Jennifer Walls, Cokenna Harris, Thomas Murray. Candice Gonzalez, and Adrian Wright.

We let go of a remarkable woman—a loving mother, a doting grandmother, a supportive sister, and a kind soul. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the love, warmth, and grace that were the essence of Jamie's being.

Her family takes comfort in the words of 2 Corinthians 5:8:
"We are confident, I say, and prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord."
