Jane McAlister Clark, Mother, Grandmother, fantastic Dancer, Friend and devoted Christian left her earthly home and went to Heaven to live with her Lord & Savior December 31, 2025. She was 77. Jane was born in Spartanburg SC and brought home to Orangeburg on September 21, 1948 to John Thomas McAlister and Grace Jeter McAlister. Jane went off to school to Vardell Hall in 1964 and graduated in 1966 and then post grad in 1967. She then went to the University of South Carolina where she studied Early Childhood Education from 1968 to 1969. In 1982 she moved to Atlanta Ga. to attend the Art Institute of Atlanta and in 1984 she graduated with an Associates Degree in Interior Design and continued that career of bringing to life her clients visions and making their home of dreams for over 40 years. It was her passion and it took her to not only homes all over the South but to Chicago and New York as well. Jane also loved to have a lot of fun while always up for a good time and made friends where ever she went. If it wasn't Shagging at the Pavilion, playing Bridge or cooking and entertaining Jane loved to be with her friends no matter where and always made it a point to keep up with them all. Jane was raised in the First Presbyterian Church in Orangeburg and when she moved to Atlanta she joined Mount Paran Church of God where she fell in love with her living Lord. She lived her life to serve others as she did when she cared for her brother John to the end of his life. She was also gifted the greatest talent in saying the most beautiful prayers, whether it was for someone not feeling well, a hope for a new beginning or over a table of Shrimp Creole, Jane always had the right words to pray. Her life was cut short by Alzheimer's but up until the end she always keep everything on her terms! We will miss you Mother, Grandmother and friend. You are not lost we know you are in Heaven. Jane is survived by her son James Clark, daughter in law Marcey Clark, granddaughters Madison Clark and Paige Clark, and preceded in death by her brother John T. McAlister. Arrangements for a memorial will be made for a later date. Please feel free to make any donations to your charity of choice in her name.
