Jane Friend Paddock (née Acerra), age 80, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, in Warminster, Pennsylvania. Born on her mother's birthday, March 5, 1945, in Rutherford, New Jersey, Jane lived a life marked by determination, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to excellence in all she pursued.

Jane earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Boston University, laying the foundation for a life of intellectual curiosity and thoughtful engagement with the world around her. Her professional journey was as dynamic as her personal passions. She began her career at Scott Paper, where she worked for many years while living in Maine and Boston. In 1979, after relocating to Westport, Massachusetts, she became the bookkeeper for West Branch Builders. Later, in 1991, Jane moved to Redding, Connecticut and took on an administrative role at Imperial Electronics. In 2001, she embraced one of her most ambitious endeavors—serving as the general contractor for the home she and her husband David designed and built together in Westport. This project was a true reflection of Jane's spirit: hands-on, challenging, and executed with precision.

Jane's life was enriched by a wide array of hobbies and interests that showcased her boundless energy and talent. She had a deep love for gardening, sewing, knitting, woodworking, genealogy, cooking—and even showing and breeding cairn terriers. Each pursuit was approached with passion and care; she poured her heart into everything that she did. Whether it was cooking or gardening, Jane strove for perfection and mastered every skill she set out to learn.

Her "can do" attitude defined her character. Never one to shy away from a challenge or rest idly by, Jane found fulfillment in staying active and engaged. Her drive inspired those around her and left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Jane is survived by her devoted husband David Paddock; her son John F. Paddock and his wife Lisa; her beloved grandchildren John F. Paddock II and Brooke F. Paddock; her brother John F. Acerra; sister in law Colleen Acerra; nephews John F. Acerra Jr. and Mathew F. Acerra; and niece Anne F. Boudousquie (née Acerra). She was predeceased by her parents Marino Acerra and Elsie F. Acerra, as well as her brother Mark F. Acerra.

May Jane's memory bring comfort to those who knew her and serve as a lasting reminder of a life lived with purpose, passion, and grace.
