Janet Collins Dailey passed away peacefully of natural causes on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at the age of 90 years old. She was deeply loved and will be truly missed by her family.
Janet was born on July 21, 1935, in Rogersville, Tennessee and raised on her family's farm. As a young woman, she moved to the Washington, DC metropolitan area and worked at several Federal Government agencies until her retirement. She spent most of her life in Rockville, Maryland, before moving to Tampa, Florida in recent years to be closer to her children.
Janet found joy in life's simple pleasures. Her favorite pastimes were walking, reading, and tending to her vegetable and flower gardens, with a special fondness for daisies. Janet loved desserts and enjoyed baking pecan pies for the family holiday gatherings.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Conley and Lena (Rogers) Collins of Rogersville, Tennessee, and her sister, Lana Marion.
Janet is survived by her children, Henry Dailey, Susan Dailey, and Ginger Wolf, (Rob) all of Tampa, Florida and Jennifer Lenahan (Hugh) of Orinda, California. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Michelle Callahan of Rockville, Maryland; Jayda and Dylan Wolf of Tampa, Florida; Rachel DiPrima (Kimo) of Orinda, California, her nephew, Stephen Marion (Eugenia) of Dandridge, Tennessee; and her niece, Rachel Franklin (Stuart) of Rogersville, Tennessee as well as her great-nieces, Allison Franklin Goley, (Noah) and Jenna Franklin Mowell, (Hunter) and her great-great-nephew and niece and three great grand children and family friend, Diana Demo.
Janet's life was one of determination, quiet strength and enduring love. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

A private celebration of life will be held with family and friends at Compassionate Cremations and Memorials in Tampa, Florida.
Graveside services will be held on a later date at McKinney Cemetery in Rogersville, Tennessee.
