Jan Hettick passed away peacefully on November 15th, 2025 at the age of 90. She was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to parents Otto A. Kohl and Dorothy C. Kohl. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren C Palmer, her brothers Richard Kohl, and Otto Kohl Jr. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and good friend.

She is survived by her daughter Kristi Skelton and her husband Kim Skelton, Son Richard Hettick and his wife Jeanne Hettick, her grandchildren: Sean M. Skelton and his wife Becky Skelton, Beau C. Skelton and his wife Anndee Skelton, Kendahl R. Hettick, and Nicholas K. Hettick, great grandchildren Willa P. Skelton and Riggs V. Skelton and Nieces Carolynn Kohl Gannon and Julie Kohl Woodford.

Jan graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Industrial Psychology and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and remained active in the community.

Jan had a great career in Real Estate, with top sales awards, served as president of the board, the Ethics committee, and as a liaison for the Calif. Assoc of Realtors for years.

She was an avid golfer at the Palos Verdes Golf club, played bridge, and was an avid reader and member of book clubs. She had many great friends, hosted parties and enjoyed life to its fullest.
Jan loved her grandkids and kids! She took the family on many trips to Hawaii and other places and had a great sense of adventure. She even did a zip line at the age of 73! Her love for adventure and travel infused those around her with happiness. She was a good example to everyone around her and will be missed but not forgotten.
