Janet passed away peacefully from this life on March 25th 2026, surrounded by family. She is survived by her 3 sons, John (Zarina), Jeffery (Pamela), and Jason (Kathryn), and her grandson Brian (Shelby).

Extended living family also Include: Janet’s Sister Ruth (Pine) Bonner, Nephews Todd & Timothy Bonner, Eric & Andrew McCabe , Nieces Diane & Karen, and their respective spouses and children, as well as her sister-in-law Gay McCabe, and Predeceased by her brother Robert Pine, and husband David Richard Mosher.

Janet Mosher had a long, wonderful life worth living.
Born and raised in Burlington, VT to Leo and Vina Pine.  She went to Cathedral High School where among her studies , she also enjoyed Glee club. Her ambitions in the real world began there where she first pursued a career in Mortuary and Embalming Science.  She was also offered a position in a local jewelry store with a promise to be sent to gem school, but her curiosity in another career path soon outweighed this pursuit.

Aspiring  for a higher education in the medical field,  she applied and was accepted to Holy Ghost Nursing School in Boston MA, in 1957. This was where she met her husband David, and they were happily married in 1960. After graduating nursing school, she felt called to serve, and followed this calling working at the VA hospital in West Haven CT. As an LPN in the stroke unit, she cared for healing vetrans  for 35 years. After retiring from the VA, she worked another 10 years as a wound care nurse for Milford Healthcare. She also Volunteered with Milford Hospital and the West Haven C.E.R.T. Team, for 6 years. She truly had the passion and the patience to care for the sick and injured.

A lover of old movies and big bands, her and her husband traveled quite often to watch Drum Corps competitions, rooting for the Milford Shoreliners, who her nephews Todd and Timmy played for. She was also a big fan of The Connecticut Hurricanes. She loved home made crafts, bake sales, tag sales, and estate auctions. Janet was a very strong and independent woman. She drove until she was 88. She was also a very devout and practicing Catholic.

The greatest contribution she made to our world was her example of raising a family. Janet was a hard worker, and an even harder disciplinarian. Her boys were most certainly taught the values of respect and hard work. Many of the friends of the boys knew Mrs. Mosher was always on patrol. Janet was known for her tough exterior but had a beautiful heart. She was known to pull the occasional practical joke, and loved to laugh  and tell stories about old friends and relatives. She had a great love of God, family, and country and showed it in her everyday life. Even at age 91 she was straight-forward in all conversations, and sharp as a tack.

She was definitely the head of our household. Her later years were filled with trips to Vermont and Washington DC, which she still spoke about. She was a rock to her 3 boys, always supporting them in their endeavors until the very end. Her presence was a loving force to be reckoned with, and She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Mom - we love you and miss you so much, and we will see you again one day, in the great beyond.

The Funeral Mass will take place at 10am on April 18th, at Saint Agnes Church, 400 Merwin Ave Milford CT. The Burial shall follow at 11:30am at Oak Grove Cemetery, 871 Campbell Ave West Haven CT.
