Janet A. Piskula (Rae), age 66, passed away peacefully in the early hours of December 5, 2025, after an unexpected diagnosis of a brain tumor just 2 weeks prior. Born on May 24th 1959 in Pennsylvania. Janet lived a life defined by her passion, determination and deep affection for those she loved.

In the mid 1990's, Janet made a bold decision to move from Pennsylvania to Wisconsin, a move that would shape the rest of her life. September 22, 2012, she married the love of her life, Bernie Piskula, and together they shared many years filled with laughter, friendship, and deep devotion. She built a career she was proud of, spending over 15 years at Target Distribution Center in Oconomowoc, WI before retiring. She spoke highly of those she built relationships with there and had a lot of great stories!

Janet had a profound love for animals and nature. She especially cherished her beloved dog, Taz, who passed away several years ago but remained a treasured companion through many seasons of her life, including the early years of her relationship with Bernie. Janet also found joy in hummingbirds, flowers, wildlife, and capturing beautiful photographs of the world around her.

Before health challenges and the onset of the government shut down due to COVID that limited her ability to be active in the community. Janet greatly enjoyed live entertainment, social gatherings, and spending time with friends and family—often sharing a few drinks and many laughs with Bernie and those closest to them. Though illness and cancer left both Janet and her husband homebound for many years, she always made time for the people who meant the world to her whenever she was able.

Janet will be remembered for her unmistakable laugh, her determination, and her fearless honesty. She was passionate, strong-willed, and unafraid to speak her mind. Above all, she cared deeply for her close friends and family and held them close to her heart.

Janet fought hard to stay with those she loved through her battles of cancer and this tumor, but God knew it was time to call her home to heaven to end her suffering and grant her eternal peace. She is now reunited with her mother and father. Janet did not lose her battle—she won the gift of heaven. One day, she will help welcome loved ones home to join her once again with a big smile and open arms.

Janet is survived by her devoted husband, Bernie Piskula, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held in the coming weeks for close friends and family. Additional details will be shared when available.
