Janice Elaine Schaaf

Janice Elaine Schaaf, born Janice Elaine Haas also known as Janice Elaine Bender, 82, passed away on April 12, 2026, in Pomona, California.

Janice was born on June 17, 1943, in Madison, South Dakota. She grew up in Howard, South Dakota and moved to California in the late 60's. She raised her family in Covina, CA and later moved to Pomona when she retired. She lived a life defined by her strong work ethic, unwavering perseverance, and deep loyalty. Family and friendship were at the heart of everything she did, and she devoted herself fully to the people she loved.

Janice was steadfast and dependable, known for showing up for others with consistency, strength, and care. Her loyalty ran deep, her perseverance guided her through life’s challenges, and her relationships were marked by trust and enduring affection. She leaves behind a legacy of resilience, devotion, and love.
Janice is survived by her six children: Julie Fontenette, Lauri Preedge, Rickie Buckles, Richie Harper, Diana Honore, and James Schaaf. She was also blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom were a great source of pride and joy in her life.
