Jason Christ, 53, passed away from a heart attack on February 17, 2026, in Lebanon, TN. Jason was born in San Jose, California. He was raised in Willow Glen with his father, Harry Christ, and mother and step father, Deena and Kurt Meier, along with siblings Jeff Christ, Julianne Christ and Erica Meier Thompson.
Jason graduated from Willow Glen High School, class of 1990, and attended Idaho State University. He developed a love for the restaurant & bar business, which he carried into the food and beverage industry, working many years in management and sales.
In October of 2010, Jason proudly welcomed a son, Maddox Harold Christ, who immediately become the light of his life. Throughout their years together, they developed a deep bond and enjoyed traveling, tasty meals, and watching sporting events -- cheering on the SF Giants, Warriors, Sharks, "Da Bears" and many other teams. Without question, Jason's role as a father to Maddox was his most revered and cherished achievement.
Jason (aka Hoopa J) leaves behind an amazing social circle from his Willow Glen, ISU, and restaurant days. Together these friends created countless wonderful memories. Time spent with his large, extended Greek family was also very important to him. The shared traditions and celebrations shaped who he was. He delighted in being a fun-loving cousin to Katie, Nikki, Tina, Debbie, and "KnUncle Jason" to Jordan, David, Justin, Carleen and Jackson. Jason had a knack for remembering special moments from past experiences and then sharing those memories to stay connected with family and friends. He valued these relationships more than anything, and treasured them all! He will be greatly missed and remembered by many.
A Celebration of Life will take place in the spring.
