Jay Barry, born on August 4, 1969, in Oak Lawn, Illinois, passed away on December 6, 2025, in Rogersville, Tennessee. He was 56 years old.
Jay is survived by his wife Amy, daughter Kate Barry and son Jack Barry. Also survived by siblings Jeanne (Will) Rodenkirch, Joe Barry, Jim (Bridget) Barry, Jeff (Annette) Barry, Stepmother Judy Barry, sisters-in-law Karen Barry and Tammy Barry and many friends, nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts and cousins.
Jay is preceded in death by his mother Anita Barry (née Klatt), his father Jack Barry and brother, John Barry.
He attended St. Catherine of Alexandria School before continuing his education at St. Rita of Cascia High School in Chicago. Jay had a creative spirit and remained deeply connected to his faith throughout his life, actively participating in church communities both in Illinois and later in Tennessee. Jay has been laid to rest in Johnson City, Tennessee.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire the creativity and kindness he shared so freely during his life. A Memorial Service will be held on January 10, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Catherine of Alexandria, 10621 South Kedvale, Oak Lawn IL. We would like to celebrate Jay's life and the many friendships he has gathered through his time among us.
