JD Gibbs, Jr., passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, in Conroe, Texas, at the age of 83. JD was born on November 29, 1942, to parents Pauline Saunders and JD Gibbs Sr. in Houston, Texas. He was also very close to his two sisters, Carolyn and Joanne (deceased).
JD lived a simple but full life committed to his family. He leaves behind many loved ones including his daughter Belinda Gibbs Rusnak; sons JD Gibbs III and wife Tori, and Michael Gibbs and wife Karen; grandchildren Andrew Gibbs, Taylor Gibbs, Zackery Rusnak and Samatha Rusnak. His sister Carolyn Gibbs Boze and husband Danny, Wayne Dennard and wife Candace, and Susan Gibbs; and many nieces, nephews, family and dear friends. The family also wishes to thank Olivia and Kathleen for their friendship and care during JD's final days.
JD never met a stranger; he had a big heart and was kind and generous to everyone, always willing to lend a helping hand. His family enjoyed spending time with him, whether over a cup of coffee or during large holiday gatherings. He was a father-figure to many, giving advice, providing a place to stay or offering a meal. The life lessons he leaves behind are immeasurable.
JD was a serious fisherman, spending weekends at tournaments in search of the biggest of the big mouth bass. He never missed an opportunity to load up the boat and take his family out, spending weekends and making memories at Toledo Bend, Bells Camp, or Sam Rayburn Lake. When all the kids were little, he taught them how to catch perch at the family farm.
Early in JD's career, he worked for Dr. Pepper Bottling. Later in his career, JD joined UPS as a delivery driver where he proudly served for 26 years before retiring. His dedication and friendly nature made him a favorite among his customers. During the Christmas season, his house was always full of treats and tokens of appreciation from those who cherished their favorite man in brown.
Later in life, JD started attending North Place Church and he enjoyed the time spent with Pastor Melvin, strengthening his faith in Jesus Christ. His family takes comfort in knowing he is reunited with his parents and sister in Heaven.
