Jean Marie (Sandowicz) Green, age 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday January 24, 2026 in Florida. She was born on July 7, 1941 and grew up on Zoa Avenue in Johnson City, NY where she was a 1959 graduate of Johnson City High School. She married Robert J. Green, Jr. in 1965 and raised their three sons in Harpursville, NY. She called NY home for most of her life, but spent most of the last two decades in Melbourne, Florida.
She was predeceased by her parents John and Julia (Majka) Sandowicz and her brother John Sandowicz, Jr. (Jack). She also lost the love of her life, Robert (RJ) in 2019 after 54 years of marriage.
She is survived by her three sons: Scott (Amy) Green, Chris (Jennifer) Green, and Craig (Nilmar) Green and her beautiful grandchildren Alex, Corey, Sean, Lexi, Karlie, and Kiki. In 2025 she was also blessed with a great granddaughter Sylvie Rae. She had a very large family of aunts, uncles, and cousins and loved her many Majka family get-togethers and reunions.
Jean always had a green thumb and enjoyed making beautiful flower gardens. She loved being outdoors. She also loved to walk and was an avid reader. She decorated the most beautiful Christmas trees with something different every year. She was a great cook and always had a full house as the boys grew up and ate them out of house and home themselves and with the many friends that were always around.
A mass to honor Jean's beautiful life will be held at a later date.
