Jean Marie Webster Meneley, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend to many, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was 88 years old.
Born on June 20, 1937, in Pasadena, California, Jean grew up with a vibrant spirit that would later define her remarkable life. In the 1950s, she moved to Las Vegas and began her career as a dancer on the iconic Las Vegas Strip. Her time as a performer reflected her grace and determination during an era when the city was blossoming into a world-renowned entertainment hub. Later in life, Jean transitioned into entrepreneurship and founded Sterling Concessions. Through this successful business venture, she operated cigarette concessions at prominent venues such as the Dunes Hotel, Sahara Hotel, and The Tropicana. Her career showcased her independence, drive, and unwavering entrepreneurial spirit.
Jean's life was marked by her deep love for people and her ability to bring joy to those around her. Known for her kind heart and forgiving nature, she embraced others with warmth and acceptance. She had an extraordinary gift for seeing the best in everyone she met and made those around her feel valued and loved. Her generosity of spirit left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Jean is survived by her loving daughter Janice Cofield and her husband Rick; her devoted son James Meneley III; her grandchildren Nick Meneley , James IV Meneley, Grace Cofield, James Cofield and Desiree Bachtel; and her great-grandchildren Colton, Bentley, Ashton, Selena, Alazar, James V, and Giovanni. She was preceded in death by two of her children: Pamela Meneley and Gerold (Jerry) Meneley.
