Jean Marie Williams (née Clough), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and teacher, passed away on March 10, 2026, at the age of 59. Born on February 8, 1967, to Jean Marie and Bruce Clough, Jean lived a life defined by unwavering love, devotion, and kindness toward others.
Jean's greatest joy and most treasured purpose in life was her family. She was deeply devoted to her husband of 34 years, James Gordon Williams Jr, and together they raised three boys who were the absolute center of her world. She leaves behind her sons, Jackson Craver Williams, Noah Christopher Williams, and Joseph Gordon Williams, as well as her daughters-in-law, Erin Patricia Williams and Chloe Elise Williams. In her later years, Jean embraced her favorite role yet: being a doting grandmother to her precious granddaughter, Ruth Marie Williams.
Growing up as the only girl among six siblings, Jean was a devoted sister who loved her brothers dearly. She is survived by her brothers: Chris (Lisa), Mike (Nancy), Andy (Kathy), Bobby (Jeanine), and sister in-law, Renee. She is now reunited in peace with her brother Greg, who preceded her death in July 2024.
Jean's Catholic faith was a central, guiding foundation of her life, something she lived out naturally through her dedication to others. Outside of her home, Jean was a pillar of her community and a cherished friend to many. She spent the majority of her career as an adored kindergarten teacher at Our Lady of Grace Catholic School. With boundless patience and a warm heart, she touched the lives of countless children and families, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Jean will be remembered for her nurturing spirit, her dedication to those she loved, and the gentle grace she brought to the world. She will be deeply missed, but her love will continue to guide her family and friends always.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Greensboro Beautiful in her memory. The family looks forward to working alongside the city to create a lasting memorial in the Bicentennial Garden to honor her beautiful life and spirit.
