Jeanette Ann Chadwick (Kostohryz), 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 14, 2026, in Westminster, Colorado. Born on June 18, 1940, in West, Texas, Jeanette lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to her family, friends, and community. She was a happy-go-lucky soul, known for her positive attitude, contagious laughter, and genuine love for people, someone who made life feel lighter and brighter simply by being in it.
Jeanette grew up in Abbott, Texas, and graduated from Abbott High School before attending Baylor University, where she met her husband, Gilbert Chadwick, in Waco at James Connally Air Force Base. They married six months after meeting. Their life together took them to Japan and eventually California, where Jeanette lived for over 40 years before moving to Colorado to be closer to family.
Her professional life included work at the Waco Tribune-Herald, real estate with College Green Realty in Sacramento, The Fair Oaks Post newspaper, Christopher Kight Photographers, and library positions at Encina and Mira Loma High Schools.
Jeanette enjoyed basketball, tennis, snow skiing, bowling, swimming, gardening, sewing, animals, and card games, especially bridge. She loved the holidays and was known for dressing up on Halloween to hand out candy. A devoted mother, she managed her daughter's softball team, kept score for her son's Little League games, and volunteered at school events. She was also a member of the wives' club at Mather Air Force Base, where she formed lasting friendships. Jeanette was a devout Catholic who attended weekly Mass and found comfort and meaning in her faith throughout her life.
She is survived by her children, Sherri Heck (David) and Steve Chadwick (Amy); grandsons Daniel and Kyle Heck; brother Ted Kostohryz; sister Debbie Robertson (Harold); many nieces and nephews and extended family members including the children of Robert Plsek. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Chadwick; fiancé Robert Hiatt; parents Hynek Kostohryz and Irene Plsek (Dolezal), and Robert Plsek; sister-in-law Joyce Kostohryz; and her husband's parents, along with his six brothers and one sister.
The family extends their sincere thanks to the caregivers at Covenant Living and Denver Hospice for their compassionate support. In keeping with Jeanette's wishes to continue helping others, she will be donating her body to the Anschutz Medical Campus to support medical education and research. No formal services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
Jeanette will be deeply missed. May her joyful spirit live on in all who loved her.
