Jeanne Marie McRae, age 82, of Torrance, California, passed away peacefully on February 3rd surrounded by her family.
Jeanne was born in Pasadena, California, and grew up in Alhambra. She devoted her professional life to education, earning her master's degree and working as a teacher, a role that reflected her love of learning and care for others.
She was preceded in death by her beloved and dedicated husband of more than 53 years, John McRae. Jeanne is survived by her two children, Joe and Annie; Joe's three daughters, Elizabeth, Megan, and Tessa; her loving sister Joan and brother Alan; as well as several cherished nieces and nephews.
Jeanne had a joyful spirit and a wonderful sense of humor. She loved to laugh, have fun, and express her creativity. Her many passions included sewing, art, painting, and flowers, activities through which she shared beauty and warmth with those around her.
She loved music and was a gifted and enthusiastic singer. She sang in her church choir and participated in local civic singing groups, where she formed lasting friendships and created an environment of support and caring.
Jeanne will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, and the love she gave so freely to her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love, learning, laughter, and devotion that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Those who loved her take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with John, making beautiful music while singing and dancing together once again.
