Jeff P BAKER

Jeffrey “Jeff” P. Baker, 69, of Akron, Ohio, went to paradise with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Jeff fought a hard battle during his brief illness with lung cancer, showing strength and resilience until the very end.
Jeff is survived by his beloved wifeof 45 years ,Tammy Baker; his sons, Nathan Baker and Justin (Lindsey) Baker; and his daughter, Mellisa (John) Baker. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Allison Chamberlin and Zoey Baker, who were truly the light of his life.
He is also survived by his siblings, who meant more to him than he often let on: Rodger and Mary Baker, Charlotte & Diane, and his beloved younger brother, Rick Baker and wife Sue.
Jeff was a master mechanic who could fix just about anything. He spent his career as a diesel mechanic working for Schneider and Yellow Freight (YRC). Outside of work, he spent countless hours in his garage, wrenching on his Harleys and doing what he loved most. He was also an avid hunter and enjoyed the outdoors.
In his retirement years, Jeff could often be found at the Bull Pen Auction House, proudly bringing home his latest “valuables.” He was a one-of-a-kind man—a legend to all who knew him—known for his strength, humor, and unforgettable presence.
In honor of Jeff’s wishes, no formal services will be held. Instead, he asked that everyone who knew him simply “have one for him” and remember the good times.
Jeff will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
