1949 - 2026

Jeffrey Steven Barron, age 76, of Sierra Madre, California, passed away on February 4, 2026 at USC Arcadia Hospital due to complications from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
Jeff was born on October 4, 1949, at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, California. He graduated from Arcadia High School in 1967. He attended UC Riverside from 1967-1970, graduated UC Irvine in 1972, and earned his law degree from UCLA School of Law as part of the Class of 1975.
Jeff spent his entire legal career at Morris, Polich,& Purdy in Los Angeles, where he was a partner and worked for over 40 years, retiring at the end of 2016. He was trusted and respected by colleagues, clients, judges, and others in the legal community.
Jeff had many interests and hobbies, including listening to music and watching sports--especially the Dodgers, the Bruins, and horse racing. He was an avid fantasy baseball manager for a team he shared with his son Jay for more than two decades that won multiple league championships. Jeff was a lifelong reader, especially crime fiction and historical nonfiction. He enjoyed traveling and visited over 10 countries, including Ireland, Australia, Egypt, and Botswana. He also cherished the outdoors and visited many national parks, including Yellowstone and Yosemite.
Jeff was active in the Sierra Madre community and served on The Sierra Madre Community Foundation. He also served as President of the Sierra Madre Little League and the Sierra Madre Pony League.
Jeff will be remembered as a kind, thoughtful, and generous man who made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He was also a natural storyteller, gathering stories from his career practicing law, his love of baseball, and his many travels.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents; Norma Alice Frempter and David Clifford Barron. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia Barron; his son Jay Barron (wife Corrie) and their children--Evelyn, Jack, Leo, and Noah--and another grandson expected in April 2026; his son Daniel Barron (wife Erica); his brother Brad Barron (wife Joanie); and his sisters Jennifer Barron (husband Curt) and Bonnie Barron.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Jeff's caretakers, his doctors, the hospital staff at USC Arcadia Hospital, the Keck ALS Clinic, and his friends for their compassion and support throughout his illness.
