"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." - Proverbs 4:23

Jeffrey Wayne Ehlenfeld, 66, of Donna, Texas passed away peacefully at his home on January 1, 2026 surrounded by loved ones after a lengthy battle with chronic heart conditions. He was born on February 27, 1959 in Danville, Illinois to the late Harry and Carolyn (Kunkle) Ehlenfeld. He will be remembered for his friendly nature, sharp mind, and the quiet strength he carried throughout his life.

Jeff grew up in Ridge Farm, Illinois, where he attended school and played sports for the Bulldogs. He was a talented athlete and built friendships during those years that stayed with him throughout his life.

From an early age, Jeff showed remarkable artistic talent. He created chalk artwork that others admired and even wanted to purchase, and he was a gifted sketch artist with a natural eye for detail. Though he never pursued art professionally, it remained a meaningul part of who he was.

Driven by curiosity and a desire to help others, Jeff earned his degree in chiropractic medicine from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. His career later expanded into chemistry, where he worked for a manufacturing company and met his wife Felicitas (Fela). They shared 25 years of marriage and would have celebrated their 25th anniversary on January 2, 2026.

He is survived by his beloved wife and his children: Stephanie Ehlenfeld Sager, Jamie (Ethan) Stonebraker, and Douglas Ehlenfeld all of Indiana; and stepdaughter Saraid Betancourt of Donna, TX. He was a proud grandfather of nine grandchildren: Katelyn (Evan) Wright, Cole, Josey, Reese, Lane, Ruby, Connor, Morgan, and Edward and two great-grandchildren Parker and Carter Wright.

Three sisters also survive him: Sherry Lewis of Winter Park, FL, Kathy (John) Twork of Bloomington, IL, and Karla Brooks of Georgetown, IL. He also leaves behind many beloved nephews and their extended families.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, a son-in-law, and his stepdaughter's husband and son.

In keeping with his wishes and his lifelong respect for learning, Jeff donated his body to scientific research. Those wishing to honor his memory may consider donations to the American Heart Association and may choose to explore opportunities to support medical education and research through body donation programs with the Anatomy Gifts Registry at AnatomyGifts.org.

No public services are scheduled at Jeff's request; the family invites you to remember Jeff in your own personal way.

Those who knew Jeff are welcome to share stories, reflections, and photos on this Legacy page, creating a shared space to honor his life and the impact he had on others.
