Jeffrey Michael Gahagan, 71, passed away on December 26, 2025, in Milo, Maine. Born on November 3, 1954, in Caribou, Maine, Jeff lived a life marked by dedication to his family, community service, and an unwavering love for sports.
Jeff spent the majority of his professional life in the banking industry, where he built a reputation for integrity and commitment. Later in his career, he brought that same dedication to public service as the Town Manager for Milo. His work reflected a deep care for the people around him and a desire to make a meaningful impact in his community.
Above all else, Jeff valued family. He was actively involved in the lives of his children and grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to support them—especially at sporting events. Whether it was cheering from the sidelines or attending yearly
Special Olympics events in support of his son AJ, Jeff's presence was constant and heartfelt.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Amber, his son Andrew Sprague and his partner Shannon; Sarah Gahagan and her partner Gordon; Zanna Gahagan and her partner Phillip; and son AJ. Jeff's legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren: Colby and his partner Sierra; Duncan and his partner Marcus; Zak; Kalea; and Jordan. Jeff is also survived by his older brother Charles Gahagan and his wife, Hazel. He shared a special bond with his niece Debbie and nephews Charlie, JR, and Ricky. Jeff also considered his closest friends—Dickie, Torrey, and Frank—as family.
Jeff was predeceased by his father Frederick Gahagan; mother Mona (Kelley) Gahagan; sisters Constance Barker and Mary Rebholz; twin brother Frederick Gahagan; and son Eric Gahagan.
A passionate sports enthusiast, Jeff was a die-hard fan of the Boston Celtics, Red Sox, and New England Patriots. His love for sports extended beyond watching games—it was woven into the fabric of how he connected with those he loved. Known for his incredible sense of humor and ability to make people smile even on their hardest days, Jeff brought lightness wherever he went. His caring nature and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
