Jeffrey Allan Mathiesen, 59, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away on February 22, 2026. Born on September 8, 1966, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Jeffrey lived a life marked by compassion, dedication, and an enduring love for his family and passions.
Jeffrey pursued a career in nursing, earning his LPN credentials and dedicating over 30 years to the field. His work reflected his deeply caring nature and commitment to helping others. Known for his quick wit and encyclopedic knowledge, Jeffrey was a man who could engage anyone in conversation and leave them both informed and entertained. He was also an avid reader who valued learning throughout his life.
Outside of his professional life, Jeffrey found joy in fishing and was a proud enthusiast of whiskey, cigars, and firearms. He shared many adventures with his beloved wife Carol, with whom he enjoyed countless road trips. Whether camping in a tent or staying in a remote cabin, they cherished their time together. Jeffrey often boasted about how they never needed the radio during their travels; their conversations and companionship were all they needed.
Family was central to Jeffrey's heart. He treasured the moments he spent with his children and grandchildren, even though his demanding work schedule sometimes limited those opportunities. The time he did have with them was deeply meaningful to him. He is survived by his devoted wife Carol; his mother Barbara; his sister Jayne; his children Ashley, Britney, and Rich (Ashley); stepchildren Amber, Allison, Terry, Amanda (Bryan), and Anna; 16 cherished grandchildren; as well as niece Elizabeth. He was predeceased by his father Richard Mathiesen.
Jeffrey's legacy is one of kindness and passion. He consistently put others before himself and worked tirelessly to bring happiness to those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
