Dr. Jeffrey Roland Nolting, born on January 2, 1942, passed away on January 19, 2026, in Columbia, Missouri. Jeffrey attended Eldora Elementary and graduated from Eldora High School. Jeffrey served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he pursued an educational path, ultimately earning a Ph.D. in clinical Psychology from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln in 2010.
Jeffrey dedicated his career to understanding and treating psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders. He was employed as a clinical psychologist at Fulton State Mental Hospital in Fulton, Missouri, and later practiced at Deer Oaks Mental Health Associates in Columbia, Missouri. Known for both his expertise and compassion, Jeffrey was highly respected by his colleagues and those he served in his career.
Beyond his professional life, Jeffrey was an avid enthusiast of flying, boating, and cycling. He was often found at jazz concerts and other social gatherings with friends and colleagues, sharing his humor and zest for life.
Jeffrey is survived by his brother, Craig Nolting, his sister, Meredith (Nolting) Leon, a cousin, five nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Junette Nolting, his sister, Kristine Nolting, and a nephew.
Jeffrey's legacy will be remembered through his contributions to psychology and the profound impact he had on his community and family. His legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.
A private ceremony will be held at the Nolting gravesite at Appleton Highland Memorial Park in Appleton, Wisconsin, at a later date.
