Jennifer Joan "Jenn" April, age 59, passed away on September 18, 2025, in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. Born October 11, 1965 in Chester, Pennsylvania. Jenn lived a life filled with love, laughter and friendship, as well as, compassion, adventure and deep connections with those around her.
Jenn pursued her calling in healthcare by attending the Beebe School of Nursing in Lewes, Delaware. After graduating, she embraced the life of a traveling nurse--a path that took her to Florida and Hawaii. Her journey eventually brought her back to the Lewes/Rehoboth area where she continued her nursing career at Beebe Medical Center and Milford Memorial Hospital. Throughout her professional life, Jenn remained steadfast in her dedication to helping others, offering care and comfort to countless patients and their families.
She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Michael Anthony Matich and cherished daughter, Mariah April. Jenn also leaves behind her sister Natalie Sellers and husband Lionel; her brothers Bill April and wife Carleen; John April. She is preceded in death by her mother Joan White; step-father George Burt White; paternal father John April and nephew, Michael April.
Jenn's life was rich with joy and meaningful moments. She loved spending time with family, traveling to new and old places, celebrating holidays with warmth and enthusiasm and gathering for crab feasts-- occasions that brought laughter and togetherness. Her vibrant spirit lit up every room she entered. With a heart full of kindness and an infectious sense of joy, Jenn formed lasting bonds with countless friends and extended family members whose lives were forever touched by her presence.
Special thanks are extended to Jenn's dedicated medical team and especially the staff of Burnaby Hospital ICU for their compassionate care during her final days.
A celebration of Life will be held on October 11, 2025 from 12:00PM to 3:30PM at Claudio's Ristorante 4402 Skyline Drive #103 in Burnaby, Canada. All who knew and Loved Jenn are warmly invited to join us in remembering her remarkable life.
