Jennifer Lee Edwards, 60, of Macomb, died at 6:37 a.m. on Thursday, December 25, 2025 at Swedish Covenant Hospital.

She was born November 8, 1965 in Madison, WI, the daughter of Herb and Kris (Hawley) Edwards. Jennifer was raised most of her childhood in Macomb, IL, graduating from Macomb High in 1983. After spending time in Carbondale, Streator, Minonk and Galesburg, she would return to Macomb. There she would get her Bachelor of Arts in 1994 and her Masters of Arts in 2005, both in history. She used her love of history working for 20 years as an archaeologist at the Illinois State Archaeological Survey - University of Illinois.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Eevee Genesis (Sean Ring), 30, of Quincy, IL. Eevee was the love of Jen's life from the moment of birth. She is also survived by her two brothers, Paul Edwards of Carbondale, IL and Dan (Alyssa) Edwards of Des Moines. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews, Deion, Mercedes, Bryson and Simon She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved sister-in-law Kathy Edwards and nephew Toby Edwards.

Jen was very passionate about history in her entire life. She wrote her Masters Thesis was on the Battle of Nashville in the American Civil War. She spent a lot of her free time on history as well. She joined the Society for Creative Anachronism the first time in 1981 in high school and would attend her last event in June of 2025. During that time she was recognized as a Sargent of the Red Company of the Middle Kingdom and a Baroness of the Court. She also was an active civil war re-enactor for several years with the Third Iowa Cavalry.

Jen was also a very active Christian. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Macomb, Illinois, Park United Presbyterian Church of Streator, Illinois, and St. George Episcopal of Macomb, Illinois. She served as a deacon for the Episcopal Church and she was studying to become a minister at the time of her death.

Cremation has been accorded per her wishes. Services are being held on January 31, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. At First Presbyterian Church 400 E. Carroll St., Macomb, IL 61455. A lunch remembrance will be held following.
