Jennifer Gonyea Pope passed away tragically and unexpectedly March 14, 2026, leaving behind a deep heartbreak for all who knew and loved her.
Jennifer was truly a light to so many. She had a heart of gold and was always willing to listen, support, and help anyone in need. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love touched countless lives. Her beautiful smile and joyful laugh could light up any room and will be remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing her.
Jennifer was born in Rochester, New York. After living in several states throughout her life, she settled in Anderson, Indiana, before eventually making her home in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
She worked as a head cook for the Arkansas Area Agency on Aging, where she not only served meals but also served her community with compassion and care.
Jennifer found joy in the simple things. She loved her chickens, her dogs, gardening, riding in the corvette, and spending time outdoors. She also enjoyed thrift shopping, always finding little treasures and bringing joy to the everyday. Above all, she cherished her role as “Mimi,” and her grandchildren were the light of her life.
A devoted woman of faith, Jennifer was a member of Glory Barn Church and loved Jesus deeply. She has gone home to be with the Lord and is reunited with her daughters, Bethany and Lindsay.
She is survived by her husband, Steve Pope; her loving daughter, Corinne McIntosh; her favorite son-in-law, Dey McIntosh; and her beloved grandchildren, Thomas, Lilly, Ty’Shaun, and Liyanna. She is also survived by her stepdaughters and stepson, Jessica Degner (John) and their children, and Jen Rine and her children, and Nick Pope ; her parents, Jack and Joanne Gonyea; her brothers, Jeff Gonyea and John Gonyea (Kristin); along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
A celebration of life will be held on April 7 at 10:00 a.m. at Glory Barn Church.
Jennifer’s love, kindness, and faith will live on in all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
