Jennifer Ortiz

Jennifer Ann Ortiz (née Kangas), age 57, passed away on November 18, 2025, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, surrounded by close family members.

Born November 3, 1968, Jen was a proud mother, gifted violinist, and an intelligent and compassionate person who enjoyed reading, knitting, and caring for her pets. Her great sense of humor and accepting nature made her a comforting presence to many.

Jen loved her children and their families very much. She is survived by her son Mike Fox and her daughter Courtney Fox. She also leaves behind her mother Shirley Kangas, brother Jeff Kangas, and sister Laura Arrowood, as well as loving aunts, extended family members, and friends who will miss her dearly. Jen was preceded in death by her beloved husband Alex Ortiz and her father David Kangas.

Throughout years of medical challenges, Jen faced each day with courage and resilience. Her perseverance inspired those around her. May memories of fun times spent with Jen bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life gathering will be announced at a later time.
