Mrs. Jennikaye "Jenni" Ruttan (née DeArmond), age 44, passed away on December 22, 2025, in Muncie, Indiana. Born on January 5, 1981, in Bluffton, Indiana, Jenni lived a life marked by compassion, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family and those in need.

Jenni was a graduate of South Adams High School in Berne, Indiana. From an early age, she demonstrated a nurturing spirit that would come to define her life's work and personal mission. As a devoted wife to Jeremy Ruttan and loving mother to Austin, Sarah, Jess, Koi, Moriah, James, Abigail, Miriam, and Micah, Jenni poured her heart into creating a home filled with warmth and care. Her fierce love for her children was evident in every moment she spent with them—always present, always supportive.

She was the cherished daughter of Lynn DeArmond and Deborah Deere and stepdaughter of Vicki DeArmond. Jenni shared deep bonds with her siblings: Brandon (Heather) DeArmond, Michael (Amanda) McKinley, Ashley (Samuel) Gomez, LeeAnn (Jeremy) Kerr, and Cayden DeArmond. The family mourns the loss of Grant DeArmond as well, who preceded her in death on March 17, 2022.

Jenni's talents extended far beyond the walls of her home. She was an exceptional homemaker whose skills in gardening brought beauty and nourishment to those around her. A passionate reader with a sharp intellect and quick wit, she brought humor and insight even during life's most difficult moments.

Her calling as a doula was one of profound impact. Jenni provided compassionate care to women during childbirth and breastfeeding—offering not only physical support but emotional strength during some of life's most vulnerable times. Her knowledge and empathy made her a trusted presence for many families navigating the joys and challenges of new life.

Those who knew Jenni will remember her as extremely loving—a mother who never hesitated to put her children first; a sister whose loyalty ran deep; a daughter whose presence brought comfort; and a friend whose compassion knew no bounds. She had an extraordinary ability to connect with others experiencing pain or exhaustion—offering solace through both action and understanding.
