Jerry F McPheeters

1926 - 2010

Jerry F. McPheeters, 84, passed away quietly at home in Yucca Valley. A 21-year resident of the High Desert, Jerry was born and raised in Long Beach to parents George F. and Ruth Mary (Storms) McPheeters. He was a World War II veteran and served in the Navy and Merchant Marines.

Jerry had many interests and was fortunate to experience multiple careers during his life. He worked in law enforcement, electronics, sales, management and consulting. The most pleasurable of times was spent working as a family while managing the Loch Leven Conference Grounds and as owner of Igo’s Village Corner in Mountain Home Village. He later became involved in mobile home park management, worked with a related Sacramento lobbying group and ultimately brought his expertise to McPheeters Consulting Services, the company from which he retired at age 80.

In wilder days he raced with the Hilltoppers Motorcycle Club and flew light aircraft. He settled into golf, traveled extensively across the U.S., and was an avid boater. Throughout his life he developed his artistic talents and especially liked participating in the local arts community.

A quick study and bright mind, Jerry was always up for an adventure and brought his family along for the ride. He enjoyed life on his own terms and willingly shared his enthusiasm with any who would ask.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Phyllis, son Jerry Philip and his wife, Michelle, son Kevin Shawn and his partner, Martin Lewis, son Terry John Roby and his wife, Linda, and grandchildren Adam and Melissa. He will be missed by his family, friends, associates and fellow artists.
