Jerry Patterson, 77, of Newport, Arkansas, passed away on December 28, 2024, in Searcy. Born on January 5, 1947, in Newport, Arkansas, Jerry lived a full and vibrant life marked by dedication to his work, love for the outdoors, and deep connections with family.
A proud veteran, Jerry served in the United States Army, demonstrating a commitment to his country that remained a point of pride throughout his life. Following his military service, he built a respected career as a master plumber.
Jerry had a lifelong passion for the outdoors. He found joy in hunting, fishing, and camping—activities that brought him peace and connection to nature. In his younger years, he raced motorcycles, embracing the thrill and freedom of the open road. He was also an avid collector, with a keen eye for coins, old bottles, arrowheads, and marbles, each item a small treasure that reflected his curiosity and appreciation for history.
He is survived by his wife, Dana Patterson; his daughter, Kimberly Marshall (Craig) of Stuttgart; and his grandchildren, Taylor Pearce (Austin), Mallory Roberson, and Colton Shadwick, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews he loved dearly. He is also remembered by his stepdaughter, Kari Kyle, and stepson, Andre Gardner. Jerry's extended family includes his sisters-in-law, Patsy Patterson of Swifton and Shirley Patterson of Newport , who shared in many family memories over the years.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Wood Patterson and Lina Mae (Hembry) Patterson; his brothers, Robert Patterson, Thomas Patterson, Anthony Patterson, and Ricky Benson; and his sisters, Helen Smith and Martha Ray.
Jerry's life was one of quiet strength and a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures. His legacy lives on in the memories of those who knew and loved him.
