Jerry Dewayne Risenhoover, 86, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026, in Boise, Idaho. Born on October 31, 1939, in Oden, Arkansas, Jerry lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his work, and the simple joys of being outdoors.

Jerry began his career in the automotive industry in 1964 at Ed McConnell Ford in Gridley, California. Over the next three decades, he built a reputation as a highly successful and respected salesman. His achievements were recognized with numerous awards from Ford Motor Company, which adorned his office walls and filled boxes at home. In 1994, Jerry transitioned to Hoblit Motors in Colusa, where he continued to excel until his retirement in 2016. Selling cars was more than just a job for Jerry—it was his passion. He found immense joy in connecting with customers who often became lifelong friends. His commitment to his work extended beyond the dealership; family events often included mailing Christmas cards to customers or delivering vehicles personally.

Outside of work, Jerry found happiness in tending to his garden—though he had little patience for weeding—and ensuring that tomatoes were planted every year. He loved spending time outdoors and could rarely be found sitting still inside the house. Whether feeding chickens and horses or caring for dogs, Jerry's days were filled with activity and purpose. His fondness for animals occasionally led to humorous challenges involving his dogs and chickens.

Jerry's life revolved around providing for his family and cherishing their shared moments. He is survived by his wife Barbara Ash of Idaho; sister Charlotte Landers of California; sons Jerry E. Risenhoover of California and Mark D. Risenhoover (Bobbie) of Texas; daughters Pam Hanes (Mark) of Texas and Sheri Tate (Dave) of California; as well as 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

He was predeceased by his first wife of "58 YEARS" Bernice Risenhoover; brothers Aron John Risenhoover, Truman Risenhoover, Willabe Risenhoover, Donald Risenhoover, Lee Risenhoover, Bernie Risenhoover, and James Risenhoover; and sisters Georgia A. Risenhoover and Rebeca Lova Jean Risenhoover.

Jerry will be remembered as a dedicated salesman who brought enthusiasm to every aspect of his life—a man who valued hard work but never lost sight of the importance of family or the satisfaction found in simple pleasures like gardening or caring for animals. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday April 11, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM at Live Oak Cemetery 3545 Pennington road California.
