Jessica Jo Rulau went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 28, 2025 after a four-year battle with sarcoma. Jess, as she was affectionately known, was an absolute warrior, enduring so much without complaint. She lived her faith each day holding firm to the promise of her confirmation verse: Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (NIV) Her life was a true testament to her unwavering faith in God.
Jess enjoyed working for CHRISTUS Health, a faith-based healthcare company in Irving TX. She worked at CHRISTUS for 10 years where she forged many lifelong friendships. She was known for her “sweet spirit”, “gentle heart” and a “quiet strength” that made those around her feel safe. When she could no longer work due to illness, many of these friends continued their support through daily prayers, texts and visits.
When Jess wasn’t working, she enjoyed watching HGTV and taking on DIY projects around her home. Jess was a proud shareholder and fan of the Green Bay Packers. She always enjoyed the rivalry she had with her Dallas friends during football season.
Jess was a dedicated “dog mom” to her golden retriever Dillinger, whom she got as a puppy in 2010. Dillinger is still with us which is a testament to the love and care she provided.
Jessica is survived by her Parents, Scott and Toni (Trew) Rulau, her sister, Samantha Rulau, her sisters in Christ, Marsha Johnson and Tineya Spain in addition to so many more relatives and friends.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the medical teams and countless others who supported Jess on this journey. She had a multitude of prayer warriors, many of which she had never met.
A ‘Celebration of Jessica’s Life’ will be held in Texas at Atonement Ev. Lutheran Church, 4412 Legacy Drive, Plano Texas, 75024 on Thursday April 9 at 3:00pm.
