Jill Marie Berglund

Jill Marie Berglund passed away peacefully and pain free at her home in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on February 17, 2026, surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 13, 1961, in Willmar, Minnesota.
Jill graduated from Willmar High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work from Mankato State University. She devoted nearly 30 years to serving families through her work with Minnesota Valley Action Council in New Ulm. Social work was more than a career—it was her calling, and she approached every mperson she served with compassion and respect.
Jill embraced life with curiosity and enthusiasm. She loved to travel, always ready to say “yes” to a new destination or a spontaneous road trip down the “road less traveled.” She enjoyed gardening and creative projects, and she had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved cat, Louie, who was her constant companion.
Known for her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor, Jill had a way of bringing lightness to any situation. Her laughter and warmth will be deeply missed.
Her faith was an important part of her life and sustained her through both joy and hardship. She trusted in God’s grace and found comfort in the promise of eternal peace.
Jill is survived by her mother, Mary (Armstrong) Berglund of Willmar; her brother, Jay Berglund of Yuma, Arizona; and her husband, Edward Bickner of Minneapolis. She was preceded in death by her father, Norman Berglund, and her sister, Holly Royce.
A visitation will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Willmar on April 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at a later date.
