With deep sadness, the family of Jill Muriel Foster announces her passing on February 8, 2026, at the age of 84, after a long and courageous battle with illness.
Born in Kew, Melbourne, on August 28, 1941, Jill lived a rich and meaningful life shaped by compassion, curiosity, and quiet strength.

A Registered Nurse by profession, she spent her early years between Sydney and Rome, Italy, where her kindness, humour, and dedication touched many lives.

Jill faced significant health challenges throughout her life — overcoming lung cancer and multiple heart attacks, and later meeting the effects of Parkinson’s disease with remarkable courage and grace.

She made her home in Melbourne, Port Douglas, and later North Rocks, New South Wales. Jill is lovingly remembered by James, Andrea, Chris, Suzanne, Oliver, and Maria; her grandchildren Matthew, Emma, and Madison; and her dear friend Maggie Johns, who for more than four decades was a soul sister to Jill and together with her son Harry stood faithfully by her side through every turn.

She was the beloved daughter of Muriel Annie Foster and Thomas Arthur Foster, whose love and guidance inspired the compassion she shared so freely.

Jill’s warmth, wit, and resilience left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her family and friends take comfort knowing her spirit will continue to shine brightly through the kindness she showed and the compassionate love she gave so freely.

A service will be held in Sydney Australia on Wednesday, February 18th 2026 at 12:00 PM (Australia/Sydney). Friends and family are invited to share memories, condolences, and tributes in her online guest book, so that her life and legacy may be remembered and celebrated together
