Jimmie L. Brooks
1942 - 2025

A resident of Ventura, CA
Jimmie Lee Brooks was born on June 9th, 1942 to Lawrence and Thelma Brooks in Collinsville, Oklahoma. Jimmie was the youngest of three brothers, Don 11 and Bob 9. Jimmie migrated to Ventura, CA at the age of 12. He graduated from Ventura High School in 1961. During his time there, he met and dated the love of his life, Connie Dreiling. Marrying on his 20th birthday, June 9th, 1962. During their 63+ years of marriage, Jim and Connie were blessed with two children, Kim (Dean) & Randy (Traci).

It should be duly noted here, that Jimmie Lee Brooks was a disciple of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. While not wanting to imply that he was perfect in any way whatsoever, Jimmie was in fact justified by the shed blood of Jesus and rest today, as promised, with the God of the universe.

Because of Jimmie's faith and abiding relationship with Jesus, he, and we, have great comfort and assurance, in knowing, that all who call on the name of the Lord for salvation will in fact be saved and spend eternity with Jesus and Jimmie Brooks.

In the marketplace, Jimmie worked for some 28 years in the beverage industry ("RC Cola 1962 - 1985, and Pepsi Cola 1985 - 1990"). He transitioned to telecommunications for the next 14 years with "Ventura Cellular and AT&T." He could sell ice cubes to an Eskimo. Following retirement in 2004 from real work he consulted at "Brooks Chimney Sweeping & Hearth Fire Investigations and Lake Casitas Boat Rentals" respectively. Jimmie was never to be defined by what he did, rather he was to be defined by who he left behind. Jimmie filled his days loving his grand children Lindsey, Jimmie (Hoss), Billy and Joey, followed by his great grandchildren Hank, Elizabeth and Laurynn.

Through the years, Jimmie was passionate about the outdoors, taking and teaching the family to hunt, fish, camp, Willys Jeeps, play sports, racquetball / pickleball, baseball, softball, football, volleyball, Rams, Dodgers, Lakers and never soccer. He would often say "always play to win," "never give up," and "second place is just the first loser."

His absence from this world will leave a giant hole in our hearts, but the 100% confidence in spending eternity with him in the presence of Jesus, is what will keep us serving God until He calls each of us home. Is there enough oil in your lamp? Matthew 25:1-13.
