Joan M Aliprand

Joan M. Aliprand passed away on Jan 18, 2026 in Cupertino, CA, USA. She leaves behind her husband Thomas S. Jew and son, Sam Jew. She is survived by her brothers, Ronald Aliprand and James Aliprand and a sister, Marietta M. Cepperano, all living in Australia.

As well as being a loving wife and mother, she was skilled in Ikebana, a Japanese form of flower arrangement. She worked as a librarian at Mcquarie University after graduating from Sydney University, and earning a Diploma in Librarianship from Mcquarie University. She then attended the University of Chicago and studied to be a Medical Librarian.

After working at the University of Chicago library, she moved to California where she worked in the Library Systems office at U.C. Berkeley and the Research Libraries Group (RLG).
