Joan Hanna Hinchliffe, a resident of Centennial, CO, passed away on February 20, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her family. Joan had a profound love for her family and friends and thrived in activities such as gardening, cooking for loved ones, thoughtfully decorating her homes, and seeking out hidden gems in thrift stores and antique shops. She treasured long morning walks, traveling, and enjoying time spent in both Arizona and Cape Cod. Joan shared 50 remarkable years of marriage with her soulmate, John Henry Hinchliffe, affectionately known as Terry. Together, they raised two children in a nurturing environment and successfully ran a medical distribution business. Their midlife adventures took them around the world, leaving behind unforgettable memories. In retirement, they spent summers in Brewster, MA, and winters in Sun City West, AZ, where they opened their patio to friends and family for grilling, beach outings, and rounds of golf. Joan dedicated 15 years to caring for her unwell husband while managing her own battle with Parkinson's, all the while radiating positivity and embracing life's joys. She devoted a significant part of her life to helping others, contributing to various local charities, and being a source of support for friends in need. Faith and community were central to her life; she often provided warm clothing such as jackets, gloves, and socks for those in shelters. Beyond being a mother and wife, Joan was a best friend and an extraordinary role model to everyone who knew her. She is survived by her sisters, Janet Evans, Beth Anas, and Connie Smith, along with her children, Craig Hinchliffe (spouse Becky) and Jill Begley (spouse Tom), as well as her grandchildren, Noah and Graham Begley. Those who wish to honor Joan’s memory may consider making a memorial contribution to Namaste Hospice, which offers vital comfort, care, and emotional support to individuals at life’s end. Further details regarding the service and Celebration of Life will be shared later this spring. Please check this obituary for updates.
