Joan Kelley

Joan Kelley, 81 of Stamford, CT passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026, surrounded by family. She was born in Greenwich, CT on March 23, 1944 to Frederick & Anne Surman. She worked in the insurance industry.
She found her greatest joy in her family. She is survived by her two sons, John of Bradenton, FL and & Shawn of Stamford, CT. She is also survived by her loving partner of 37 years, Tommy Fitzgerald whose companionship brought her deep happiness and comfort. She leaves behind two brothers, Fritz & Richard Surman, granddaughter Anna Gendreau, grandson Michael Kelley, great grandson Brody Gendreau, and Camden Kelley and several cherished nieces and nephews, and many friends who will remember her warmth, quiet strength, and generous spirit. Joan was predeceased by her sister Barbara Riakowsky and her great granddaughter, Makayla Gendreau.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
A church service will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church in Stamford on Saturday March 7th at 1:00pm. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this time.
