Joan Yarnell (Crozier), passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, at the age of 76. An (almost) lifelong resident of Montgomery County, Joan was born on August 7, 1949, in North Wales, Pennsylvania.
Joan graduated from North Penn High School in 1967 and went on to pursue her passion for plants and nature by studying horticulture at Temple University. Her love for gardening remained a constant throughout her life, reflected not only in the vibrant landscapes she cultivated but also in the care and attention she gave to those around her.
She was a devoted mother to Stephen Yarnell and Megan Yarnell and a cherished grandmother to Genevieve Stackhouse and Delilah Stackhouse. Joan's nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family; she was known for being loving and caring to so many whose lives she touched with her warmth.
Joan is also remembered by her siblings: George Crozier Jr. (Cathy), Richard Crozier (Marion), Steven Crozier (Carol), and Julia Crozier. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Crozier Sr. and Dorothy Crozier.
In addition to her deep love for gardening, Joan found joy in cooking for those she loved and was an avid reader who delighted in exploring new ideas through books. Her intelligence shone through in conversation and action alike, always paired with a carefree spirit that made others feel at ease.
Joan wished to be cremated, and a celebration of life will be had a later date.
