Joanie Wendt

Joanie Wendt, age 72, of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026. Born on March 21, 1953, in St. Paul, Minnesota, Joanie lived a life marked by learning, creativity, and a deep love for those closest to her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ron; her parents, James and Rita Perkins; and her brother, Jim Perkins.

Joanie is survived by her daughter, Alicia, who was the light of her life, as well as her sisters, Nancy Fossell (Ralph) and Pat Cohen (Howard), nieces Lisa Treviranus (Jeff) and Shelly DeMarre, along with extended family, friends, and her faithful furry companions, Sadie and Pablo, who will miss her dearly.

A lifelong learner, Joanie pursued her education with determination and pride, earning her PhD in 2001, an accomplishment that reflected her intellectual curiosity and perseverance.

Joanie was especially known for her beautiful singing voice and her love for music. Whether singing or enjoying karaoke, she brought warmth, laughter, and a sense of fun wherever she went.

In accordance with Joanie's wishes, no public service will be held. Those who knew and loved her are invited to honor her memory in their own meaningful ways, perhaps by sharing a favorite song, memory, or moment of joy.
