Joanne Marie Galea

Joanne Marie Galea, age 83, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026. She was born on January 28, 1942, and was raised in San Francisco, where she built lifelong friendships and memories that stayed with her always.

Joanne was predeceased by her beloved husband, John Galea Sr., and her cherished oldest daughter, AnneMarie. While she carried these profound losses, she remained a vibrant source of strength, quietly teaching her family how to find hope, resilience, and beauty in every new season of life.

She is survived by her loving children, John Galea Jr. and his wife Criss, and Lisa Delucchi and her husband Michael. Joanne was a devoted grandmother to Santino Galea and his wife Amanda, Marisa Galea, Samantha Delima and her husband Gabriel, and Rachael Delucchi-Salyer and her husband Matthew. She was especially proud of and deeply adored her great-grandchildren, Wes and Rhett. She is also survived by her brother, Albert Agresti, with whom she shared a lifelong bond.

Joanne was a master painter and sketch artist, expressing her creativity through her hands and heart. She found joy in gardening, cheering on the Golden State Warriors, and revisiting favorite films like The Wizard of Oz and The Nightmare Before Christmas. She spoke fondly of her years in Daly City, sharing many great times and friendships with the Wessix Gang—the neighborhood and community that helped shape the Galea family's story.

A viewing will be held from 4:00-6:00 PM on Thursday, January 29, at Pacifica Chapel by the Sea, at 801 Oceana Blvd, Pacifica, CA followed by a vigil at 6:00 PM.

Joanne will be remembered for her quiet strength, creative spirit, and the love she gave so freely to her family. Her legacy lives on through the generations she cherished so deeply.
