Jodi Misher Peikin, 59, of New York, New York, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026, following a long illness, surrounded by family and friends.
Born on June 30, 1966, in Washington, D.C., Jodi was the daughter of Sheldon and the late Joan Misher. She was raised in Woodmere, New York, where she attended Hewlett High School. She graduated from Tufts University, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and went onto Harvard Law School, where she met her husband Steven Peikin, who fell in love with her at first sight. She graduated Harvard cum laude and then clerked for the Honorable Shirley Wohl Kram of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Jodi joined the Morvillo Abramowitz firm, where she pursued a highly successful career as a white-collar criminal defense lawyer. She was known for unwavering dedication to her clients, deep respect earned from colleagues and adversaries, and her success in many high-profile securities and other complex cases. She devoted significant time to pro bono matters, reflecting her strong sense of justice and compassion.
Jodi was intensely devoted to her family, especially her husband and her children. A proud New Yorker, she was an avid New York Mets fan, a talented tennis player, a runner, a lover of junk food, and the undisputed favorite of every family pet. Dedicated, forgiving, and fierce, she instilled in her children the belief that they could achieve anything they set their minds to. Whenever they had a big day or were waiting for important news, she didn't just cross her fingers for luck; she scotch-taped them together so they would remain crossed the whole day, a gesture they will forever cherish.
Jodi will be profoundly missed and forever remembered with love.
Jodi is survived by her husband, Steven, her children Brian (Anabel) and Alison, her sister, Shari (Andy), and her father, Sheldon.
Donations in Jodi's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) or the Center for Hearing and Communication (chchearing.org).
