Melba Jo “Jodie” Jacobus, 89, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025.
Jodie was born on April 23, 1936, in Sentinel, Oklahoma, to James and Jewell Richardson. She lived in Tulsa from 1945, attending Central High School and the University of Arkansas. She worked for her father’s Mercedes dealership in Tulsa, Richardson Motors, and later as a Business Office Supervisor at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She was active with the Oil Capital chapter of the American Business Women’s Association. In retirement she was active in the Tulsa County Bar Auxiliary, and its 36th President. Her boundless energy, social spirit, and leadership were admired by her family, friends and colleagues.
She was a member of the Church of the Madalene, and former President of the Women’s Club.
Jodie is survived by her three sons, Scott Rylander (Cindy), Eric Rylander (Susana), and Stephen Rylander (Amy); grandchildren Kristin and Patrick; two great grandchildren and many loving step-grandchildren and one step-greatgrandchild, and nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at Calvary Cemetery chapel at 1:00 PM, Monday, January 5, 2026.
