Joe Weatherford, a proud United States Army veteran and devoted family man, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and quiet humor. He worked for the sheriffs department,Johnson's Manufacturing , Buffalo Springs Lake Patrol, a rancher and electrician.
Joe honorably served his country in the 1st Cavalry Division during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1968. His time in service reflected the courage and dedication that defined much of his life.
He shared 58 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Anna Reeves Weatherford. Together, they built a life rooted in loyalty, laughter, and unwavering commitment—a partnership that stood as an example to all who knew them.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Weatherford and Venita Bishop ; his siblings, Wynn, Ann, and Jim; and seven precious angel babies who he now holds close again.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Anna; his daughter, Kim; and Cassie, who was like a daughter to him. He also leaves behind two girls he adored as granddaughters, Stormie and Aubree, along with numerous extended family members, including brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Joe found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved taking day trips out to the Hill Country, casting a line out while fishing, and spending quiet moments laughing at funny videos on YouTube. His easy smile, steady presence, and gentle spirit made him someone people felt safe with—someone deeply cherished.
Joe Weatherford will be remembered for his service, his devotion to family, and the love he gave so freely. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Services will be held Saturday April 18, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the Fundamental Baptist Church 902 Church St.
