Johanna Theresa Fitzgerald

A native of Tieraclea, Tarbert, Co. Kerry, Ireland, Johanna passed peacefully on Christmas Day 2025. Beloved daughter of the late James and the late Nora (Scanlon) Fitzgerald; devoted sister of the late Sarah (the late George) Lennon, the late Mary (the late Thomas) McNamara, the late Thomas (the late Maureen), Sr. Ambrose, RSM (Nuala), Michael (the late Marie), the late Catherine, William (Deborah), Carmel, John (the late Maureen), James, the late Maurice (Maureen), Mairéad, and Celestine (Daniel) Gallagher; proud aunt; cherished cousin; and dear friend.

Noted for her signature style, Johanna was a classic beauty. Her vibrant spirit shone as a dedicated caregiver, and she generously supported countless charitable causes. Johanna embraced her adopted hometown of Chicago while remaining close to her Steeple Road homeplace. Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 3, 2026, at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 10621 S. Kedvale Avenue, Oak Lawn.
